Let’s do things different, travelers typically spend much time exploring or shopping in modern supermarkets or department stores. You can be different, stopover at these 5 best well-known local market and tell a different story about how you explore the city.  

 

1. Pshar Tmei or Pshar Thom Tmei or Central Market

 

Getting start from the center of the touristic zone and the most famous out of all in the city, we stopover at Pshar Tmei or Central Market, which has historically been opened since 1937. Yes, it is more than 70 years in operation, Guys, this place is a history of Phnom Penh itself.

 

You will notice it on postcard or any great photographer blog, depicting the art of architectural masterclass in the 20th century. Shaping in a doom yellow color, it is the home of many souvenir shop, jewelry, clothes and fresh local food. So, there are reasons that it is the best.




 

2. Pshar Toul Tompoung or Russian Market

 

You might end up visit Russian market or Toul Tompoung market because your friend, your tuk tuk driver tell you how local it is and what make it so attractive for visitors.

 

Unlike the Central Market, there is no architectural building at Toul Tompoung market, it is only an old classic looking marketplace, gathering all things you need from dried fish to a factory outlet clothes.

 

Tourists visit there because there are variety of souvenir choices to bring back home to your love one or keeping good memories about Cambodia.



3. Pshar Orussey

 

This one is exceptionally local market. You can buy almost anything there, it is a home of wholesale and retail shop of everything and we literally mean everything. We bet you never ever find anyone in Cambodia have not bought a thing from Orussey Market. So if you love to explore and get a good picture of local market place, you need to check it out.

 

4. Pshar Chas or Old Market

 

Trying to visit the market in the morning and enjoy a fresh local breakfast there. Noodle soup, Porky Rice, fresh baguette with pickle and many more are addictively delicious breakfast and Pshar Chas and the surrounding area is the best one to enjoy it.



 

5. Pshar Kondal

 

This market is about 10 minutes walk from the Royal Palace and the National Museum of Cambodia. Well, there nothing to do much  but one thing significant is the photographic old living building in the area. Thus, if you are one of the street photographer, definitely check it out.
